Border Basin OPSB Permit Approved

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Feb. 16, 2023) - The Ohio Power Siting Board authorized Border Basin I, LLC to construct a solar-powered electric generating facility in Hancock County.

The OPSB approved a settlement agreement allowing Border Basin I to construct a 120 MW solar-powered electric generating facility in Cass Township, Hancock County. The project will consist of arrays of solar panels, as well as associated facilities, including access roads, weather stations, inverters and transformers, a collection substation, and a 138 kV generation interconnection transmission line. The project will occupy 966 acres within a 1,378-acre project area.

The OPSB required 44 conditions that the facility must adhere to in order to minimize and mitigate potential impacts during construction and operation.
